The Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Network (HRSN)
The HRSN is made up of leaders from within the voluntary, community & social enterprise (VCSE) sector who commit to working towards ending and preventing homelessness in Brighton and Hove through collaboration, within the sector and with statutory partners and wider stakeholders.
Currently, 25 organisations are signed up as members of the HRSN and meet at least every 3 months.
Chaired by Simon Gale, Justlife, CEO

The HRSN activities, including this website, are facilitated by Justlife, driven by their Vision and Values - leading innovation and collaboration in the homelessness sector.
The HRSN is part of a wider infrastructure of services, groups and practitioners working to address homelessness, and its causes, within the City.
The issues relating to, and causing, homelessness are many and complex. As a result there are many partners and wider stakeholders who are working, in some shape or form, to tackle this. Therefore, the HRSN is a network within networks.
Through its findings reported in the Working Together Report the HRSN seeks to identify and help bring together those working to this end across roles, services and sectors - improving channels of communication, understanding of key issues and facilitating collaboration and innovative approaches.
A sector wide response needs good communication for all those involved, so the HRSN links closely with the following:
B&H Frontline Network - Engaging frontline workers
Homeless Operational Forum - A regular space for service managers to meet and share
Common Ambition - Bringing together people with lived experience of homelessness, frontline providers, and commissioners through co-production within homelessness health services.
Street Support Brighton & Hove - a comprehensive listing of services available to support those experiencing homelessness or threatened with homelessness.
Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) Partnerships
The HRSN is also mapping both more specialist groups and networks and also the wider services and systems that the theme [issue?] of homelessness exists to develop greater understanding of the needs and identify gaps, and build upon Common Ambition Brighton’s mapping of services.
The HRSN shall share its learnings via this website.
Key themes the sector is currently focussing on are:
Co-Production and Lived Experience
Developing a highly skilled workforce - particularly around psychologically informed approaches and effective support for staff and volunteers.
